A Little Bit About Me
I studied piano, organ and voice at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music from
Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Soon after graduating, I began building my music studio. I found that I enjoyed working with
students in a studio situation where I could tailor to each one's individual interests and learning styles. In the past, I have held positions
as a church organist and, adult and children's choir director. I have worked as a general music teacher at a Montessori School grades
K-8 (11 years) and private Lutheran school preschool-8 (11 years). I accompany students for various music competitions, and have provided
music for weddings and social gatherings. I am a longstanding member in numerous music organizations. These memberships
afford students the opportunity to participate in recitals, festivals, master classes, auditions and workshops. Students who
choose to participate receive high ratings.
I am continually excited about playing and teaching piano. My goal is to share this excitement and use my knowledge to help
instill a love of music in my students. When both the student and the teacher give their best, you can expect to see some
wonderful musical milestones. Ultimately, a student will have the most fun when they see improvement and can feel a
true sense of accomplishment. This includes accomplishment in all areas of musicianship, note reading, performance,
creative interpretations; to help the development of a healthy and virtuosic technic.
I am married and enjoy spending time with our 3 children and their families. I have 4 grandchildren who I adore!! Two of my children
live in Minneapolis and one in Bothell, Washington. We frequently travel to Minneapolis for the weekend and occasionally to Bothell.
If you are ever on a local river or lake you may spot my husband and me in our kayak's! We enjoy being on the water.
I also like to read, garden, cook and listen to all genre's of music.
